In today’s context, where sustainability is a priority, Bruschi has decided to adopt responsible energy solutions for 2024 and 2025, aimed at building a more sustainable future.

Bruschi renews its commitment to purchasing 100% certified and guaranteed green electricity for the entire 2025 production. Just like in 2024, the Abbiategrasso (MI) and Gorla (VA) sites will exclusively use electricity from renewable sources, significantly reducing environmental impact and CO₂ emissions.

With a total consumption of nearly 6,000,000 kWh of electricity, Bruschi thus reduces its environmental impact by eliminating scope 2 emissions, saving a total of 1,825 tons of CO₂.

In this way, each manufacturing plant reduces its carbon intensity.
For example Abbiategrasso ‘s manufacturing plant has reduced carbon intensity of 83%

Bruschi, commissioned by the Leonardo3 Museum – The World of Leonardo in Milan, has brought to life an extraordinary work inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s famous drawing: the Mazzocchio. This intricate structure, made up of 32 octagonal sections and 512 individual pieces, was unveiled to the public on November 14, 2024, during an exclusive preview at the milanese museum.

The Leonardo3 Museum, a one-of-a-kind museum dedicated to the Renaissance master, artist, and inventor, located in the stunning setting of Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan, approached Bruschi at the end of 2023. The museum requested Bruschi’s collaboration with the Leonardo3 Research Center team to realize the project. After a year of work, the masterpiece was completed, allowing museum visitors to witness the realization of the maestro’s vision.

The Leonardo3 Museum reveals the true genius of Leonardo da Vinci as an artist and inventor through groundbreaking reconstructions of his machines and restorations of his paintings. Bruschi was chosen for this exceptional project due to its technical expertise and capabilities, which proved essential in bringing this extraordinary piece to fruition.

Bruschi was selected by the museum to manufacture the individual components of the structure based on designs created by the Leonardo3 Museum Study Center, which then reproduced the master’s work in its workshops.

The design of the Mazzocchio, also known as a “hood-shaped” structure, served as the foundation for a headpiece commonly worn in Renaissance Europe. More importantly, it has fascinated and challenged artists, designers, and engineers for centuries, inviting them to explore its unique perspective. Notable examples include the illustrations of Piero della Francesca and the intarsia work of Federico da Montefeltro.

Copyright of images: Leonardo3 Museum – All rights reserved.

The Mazzocchio’s structure is highly complex. It represents an axonometric projection, where each plane of the toroidal solid, composed of octagonal sections, forms a hollow structure that reveals the layers beneath it. Essentially, it is a polygonal ring made up of a series of hexagonal or octagonal prismatic sections, joined to form obtuse angles throughout.

For the first time in history, Bruschi, in collaboration with the Leonardo3 Research Center, constructed this structure in metal. It is now on display at the museum in Milan, exhibited alongside Leonardo’s original drawing, preserved in the Codex Atlanticus.

Paolo Rastelli, CEO of Bruschi, shared his pride in the accomplishment:
“As an engineer, I am immensely proud that Bruschi has contributed to such an important endeavor. Beyond the technical and technological expertise required, it is incredible to witness a Leonardo masterpiece come to life. We are honored to have partnered with the Leonardo3 Museum to realize this vision of the maestro.”

The Mazzocchio is exclusively on display at the Leonardo3 Museum in Milan.

We are pleased to announce that, effective December 1st, 2024, Bruschi will finalize its merger with Sapre, marking an important milestone in its growth strategy.

One year after the acquisition of Sapre, the two companies will become one: Sapre will be fully incorporated into Bruschi, creating a single, stronger, and more competitive organization in the manufacturing and innovation sectors.

With this merger, Bruschi officially expands its expertise by adding aluminum alloy die-casting technology to its portfolio while maintaining its long-standing leadership in zinc alloy die-casting. This integration brings together a network of 240 skilled professionals across two Italian facilities and the Milwaukee (USA) office, all collaborating to deliver innovative solutions to customers worldwide.

To reflect this transformation, Bruschi has also updated its legal name to Bruschi S.r.l., underscoring its commitment to simplifying processes. For over 75 years, Bruschi has been a flexible and agile organization, ready to lead change in the die-casting industry.

Paolo Rastelli, CEO of Bruschi, commented:
“The completion of this merger allows us to warmly welcome our new colleagues to the team. This process streamlining will make us more agile in the market, enabling us to reduce Time to Market and offer even more specialized expertise to support our customers in achieving their goals. Bruschi has always placed the customer at the center of its strategy, building on the trust that drives goods and people through factories worldwide.”

Bruschi was supported in this transaction by TCA Triberti Colombo e Associati, serving as its advisor. The company extends its heartfelt thanks to Dr. Paolo Bergamasco and Attorney Nicola Salvarani for their invaluable contributions.

This merger marks an exciting new chapter for Bruschi, reinforcing its position as a leader in innovation and manufacturing excellence.

In recent years, the growing awareness of climate change and the demand for sustainable business practices have driven many industries to reconsider their energy strategies. In this context, Bruschi has embarked on an ambitious collaboration with Siemens AG, focusing on the integration of renewable energy sources into their daily operations.

The sustainability analysis conducted together with Siemens AG highlighted the tangible benefits of adopting eco-friendly energy solutions. By purchasing 100% green energy, Bruschi has fully achieved its primary goal of reducing its carbon footprint and improving operational efficiency, while significantly cutting CO2 emissions and reducing long-term operating costs.

In conclusion, the integration of renewable energy in factories represents not only an opportunity to reduce environmental impact but also a strategic investment for the future. With Siemens AG’ guidance, companies can embark on a path of sustainability that not only enhances their image but also contributes to building a greener and more responsible world.

In 2023, Bruschi successfully completed an important innovation challenge in the development of zinc die-cast products, requested by a German company in the automotive sector, the mass production of a component of very small dimensions that respected the stringent weight constraint imposed by the customer

The component in question is linked to the safety of the vehicle’s driver and passengers. Due to its very nature, it requires a maximum tolerance of a few thousandths compared to the required weight of 6 grams. Such a tight tolerance level is challenging to be respected 100% in producing die-cast parts.

Bruschi’s R&D team and technical office took the lead in developing a pioneering project in the sector. Leveraging software development and cutting-edge technologies, they overcame the common limitations of die-casting production and met the customer’s demand.

Therefore, the mass production of zinc pieces smaller than a €1 coin was guaranteed, respecting the tolerance specifications provided by the customer.

Bruschi designed and implemented a fully automated production process to ensure precision and quality. This process involves the use of robots equipped with precision grippers capable of extracting the die-cast components from the molds. A camera placed on the machine allows the robot to independently verify the presence of all the pieces inside the mold, dismantle them, and place them on a precision scale for quality assurance.

Any pieces that do not meet weight standards activate a reject system.

This is an example of how technological progress and engineering skills make it possible to satisfy the market’s needs, overcoming production limits that only a constantly evolving company can overcome.

September 20, 2023-In the setting of the Die Casting Congress & Tabletop event in Grand Rapids, MI, Bruschi won the fifth NADCA Award in her history.

In this 2023 edition, Bruschi won his fifth NADCA Award thanks to a piece part of a complex opening system produced for FAAC S.p.A., a historic Italian multinational company specialized in automation for gates and barriers, automatic entrances and doors, car parks and access control.

This is a significant moment for the company, as it further solidifies its position of technological leadership in the world of zinc alloy die casting. This achievement coincides with the months during which Bruschi also emerged as a key player in the world of aluminum alloy die casting, thanks to the acquisition of SAPRE Srl, a historic Italian company specializing in aluminum alloys, all while celebrating its 75th anniversary.

Paolo Rastelli, CEO of Bruschi, made the following statement: “The acquisition of a new production plant for aluminum die castings and our company’s anniversary were significant milestones for us. They served to rejuvenate the energy we dedicate to our daily foundry operations, ensuring customer satisfaction. This fifth NADCA Award represents another such moment—a piece of news that ignites even greater enthusiasm and energy within the company. This recognition highly gratifies us, and I am confident it will motivate us to work with increased dedication and focus, striving to achieve further noteworthy results.”

This award joins the ranks of four other projects from Bruschi that have received this prestigious recognition:

1997 – NADCA Award: Bruschi earned this accolade through a historic collaboration with Olivetti, resulting in a printer featuring zinc components.

2001 – NADCA Award: A joint effort between Bruschi and Alcatel led to the creation of an Alcatel frame, garnering Bruschi the NADCA award in 2001.

2016 – NADCA Award: A partnership with ARCA produced the CM18 Reader component, designed by Bruschi through co-design, which allowed the requesting company to achieve up to 40% cost savings. This achievement earned Bruschi the NADCA Award in 2016.

2021 – NADCA Award: Bruschi secured the 2021 NADCA Award for designing and producing an aesthetic component for a well-known car manufacturer’s steering wheel, manufactured on behalf of ZF, an important Tier 1 company in the automotive sector.

Bruschi S.p.A. finalized the acquisition of 100% of Sapre S.r.l., a company specialized in the non-ferrous alloys sector, active in the market since 1988, with the aim of entering the aluminum alloy die-casting market.

Bruschi S.p.A. has been a leading player in the zinc alloy die-casting market for over 75 years, and thanks to this acquisition, it has achieved its goal of diversifying the offer in technological terms. This objective was defined in the industrial plan approved by the Board of Directors during the management buyout operation of 2016 in which the shareholders of MESHPA S.r.l., in the persons of Eng. Paolo Rastelli, Dr. Simone Maggiori and Eng. Matteo Coppola, acquired Bruschi S.p.A.

This technological diversification follows the diversification in terms of geographical market materialized in 2020, with the acquisition of the Milwaukee, WI production unit in the United States from the German group HUF, and is consistent with the growth strategy set by the company: a strategy which saw Bruschi S.p.A. go from 16.5 million euros in turnover in 2013 to 43 million euros in turnover in 2022, with a forecast for 2023 of 55 million euros.

Bruschi S.p.A., therefore, positions itself today as a vertical and integrated technology partner for its customers in Europe and North America, growing from a workforce of 220 employees to a post-acquisition team of 270 employees in three different production plants between Italy and the United States.

Paolo Rastelli, CEO of Bruschi, declares: “This acquisition is another important step in the history of Bruschi. A new step to make our industrial project concrete”. Simone Maggiori, VP and Head of Sales, adds: “This is a fundamental technological diversification that will allow us better to follow our customers between Europe and North America. We will work in continuity with the Sapre business, immediately developing long-term synergistic commercial strategies”. Matteo Coppola, board member, finally comments: “We are achieving the plan defined in 2016: our energy, our experience, and our concreteness will be the sap for new ideas to be developed in the near future”.

By Sapre S.r.l., the Surveyor Gianfranco Bollini, Sole Director of Sapre S.r.l., supports Bruschi S.p.A. with his best wishes declaring, “In Sapre, we are very satisfied with this operation. We have worked to leave the company in expert hands: our priority has been to ensure the continuity of Sapre’s corporate philosophy based throughout its history on continuous technological, business, and operational development. With the Bruschi company, we are certain that this can be achieved with an even greater driving force than that supported up to now by Sapre. I wish Paolo, Simone, and Matteo to lead Sapre in the best possible way with particular attention to continuity and innovation.”

TCA Triberti Colombo e Associati assisted Bruschi S.p.A. in the transaction as an advisor. Bruschi S.p.A. thanks, in particular, to Dr. Paolo Bergamasco and Avv. Nicola Salvarani for support. Sapre S.r.l. was assisted by Law & Tax, Barberi, Bellini, Rondinone, Santaroni & Partners law firm, and Paolo Frattini & Partners as an advisor. Sapre S.r.l. thanks, particularly to Dr. Filippo Colombo, the lawyer Monica Bosco and Dr. Paolo Frattini.
