We are pleased to announce that, effective December 1st, 2024, Bruschi will finalize its merger with Sapre, marking an important milestone in its growth strategy.

One year after the acquisition of Sapre, the two companies will become one: Sapre will be fully incorporated into Bruschi, creating a single, stronger, and more competitive organization in the manufacturing and innovation sectors.

With this merger, Bruschi officially expands its expertise by adding aluminum alloy die-casting technology to its portfolio while maintaining its long-standing leadership in zinc alloy die-casting. This integration brings together a network of 240 skilled professionals across two Italian facilities and the Milwaukee (USA) office, all collaborating to deliver innovative solutions to customers worldwide.

To reflect this transformation, Bruschi has also updated its legal name to Bruschi S.r.l., underscoring its commitment to simplifying processes. For over 75 years, Bruschi has been a flexible and agile organization, ready to lead change in the die-casting industry.

Paolo Rastelli, CEO of Bruschi, commented:
“The completion of this merger allows us to warmly welcome our new colleagues to the team. This process streamlining will make us more agile in the market, enabling us to reduce Time to Market and offer even more specialized expertise to support our customers in achieving their goals. Bruschi has always placed the customer at the center of its strategy, building on the trust that drives goods and people through factories worldwide.”

Bruschi was supported in this transaction by TCA Triberti Colombo e Associati, serving as its advisor. The company extends its heartfelt thanks to Dr. Paolo Bergamasco and Attorney Nicola Salvarani for their invaluable contributions.

This merger marks an exciting new chapter for Bruschi, reinforcing its position as a leader in innovation and manufacturing excellence.

The day brought together collaborators and their families, former employees, and some of Bruschi’s friends and suppliers to spend time together and toast this important birthday. An opportunity for meetings and exchanges between generations of workers in the name of memorabilia from the past, stories of company history, and products representative of the many Bruschi collaborations with its customers. The presence of the families also represented an opportunity to share our workplace with them, making them active participants in our corporate culture. The day was a resounding success for the participants, providing a valuable opportunity to rejuvenate their energy and motivation, equipping them to tackle the imminent challenges of the future with renewed vigor and determination. Happy birthday, Bruschi!

On Monday, May 29th, 2023, the “Past, present, future” event organized by Bruschi for all its employees was held in Cascina Caremma in Besate. The event lasted the entire day and stood out as a Team Building moment dedicated to all Bruschi collaborators in the name of corporate values: Trust, Appreciation, and Accountability.

Precisely, the values of Trust, Appreciation, and Accountability were the fulcrum of the speeches, games, and activities that punctuated the day organized by Luca and Laura Varvelli, training partners who have been collaborating with Bruschi for many years now. Trust, Humility, and Responsibility were therefore materialized within a day dedicated to smiles, which saw the absolute participation of all Bruschi collaborators.

Paolo Rastelli, CEO of Bruschi, comments on the day: “It was certainly a special day for all of us: I am sure taking time to play and reflect together will have an important effect on our everyday work. The game, as well as the common reflection, in fact, have the ability to create new and different ties: ties that are different from what we experience every day in the company. These ties are of fundamental importance to us: they are the structure on which our team is based. A team that must be close-knit, in which our values such as Trust, Humility, and Responsibility guide the choices and work in unison with the technological skills that allow Bruschi to face cutting-edge challenges in the global context every day: in Europe and the United States. By its intrinsic nature, Bruschi seeks out the most technologically advanced challenges on the market, and I am convinced that only a team as close-knit as ours can be ready for these challenges”.

Bruschi recently won another prestigious award for its exceptional ability to overcome the current limits of zinc alloy die-casting technology.

The prize was awarded during the second annual Zinc Die Casting Conference in Chicago from June 5-7, 2023.

This event was organized by the International Zinc Association (IZA) in collaboration with the Zinc Die Casting Steering Committee, supported by the North American Die Casting Association (NADCA). The competition saw the participation of zinc die-casting experts from all over the world, who presented pieces made of die-cast zinc that stood out for their design, quality, ingenuity, economy, and innovation. Bruschi has proved to be a leading player in this sector.

Bruschi entered the competition with a ring-shaped loudspeaker magnet support in zinc alloy which acts as a cage for the internal magnetic circuit. The creation of the piece posed significant challenges in terms of mold construction and process management, which required high competence and precision due to the very thin walls and ribs and the high aesthetic requirements of the visible part.

In close collaboration with the customer ASK, the Bruschi technical team has successfully overcome numerous critical issues, thus taking a further step forward in the technological improvement of the die-casting process.

On 4 May 2023, the appointment “1h of… with…” organized by Bruschi for all his collaborators and customers, friends, and selected suppliers was back on stage: the host of this meeting was the coach of the Italian men’s national team of volleyball, World and European Champion Ferdinando De Giorgi, known as Fefè.

After the great guests of the past year, for this first event of 2023, Bruschi has chosen a character with an extraordinary story, who told those present about the challenges faced during his experience as a player and the fundamental elements that allowed him, as a coach, to build a team of young people by guiding them to success.

“1h di… con…” is the Bruschi format of in-depth analysis of economic, social, and business topics. Mr. De Giorgi was a guest capable of recounting his experience, conveying valuable learning and food for thought derived from his own personal and professional life. Mr. De Giorgi is, in fact, a volleyball coach and former Italian volleyball player, setter role, and current coach of the Italian men’s national team. As a player, during the eighties and nineties of the twentieth century, he was part of the so-called generation of phenomena of the Italian national team, with whom he won three world championships: Brazil in 1990, Greece in 1994, and Japan in 1998. As a coach, he boasts of the 2021 European Championship and the 2022 world title among his titles.

From his experience, De Giorgi has derived his own concepts of the game, translating the message into business terms. The concepts he wanted to leave to the Bruschi guests went beyond the sporting metaphor, instead inspired reasoning applicable to everyday professional life.

On December 2, 2022 Bruschi held its year-end event at the Cagnoni Theater in Vigevano. It was an opportunity for the company’s partners, Paolo Rastelli and Simone Maggiori, to present to all employees the 2022 results and summarize the main challenges facing the company in 2023.

As tradition, company seniority anniversaries were celebrated: Bruschi recognized an award to employees who have completed 25, 30, and 35 years of seniority, thanking them for their dedication and commitment throughout their careers at Bruschi. Thanks were also given to staff who reached their well-deserved retirement milestone during 2022.

After the institutional part came the entertainment part: Sergio Sgrilli, well-known Zelig comedian, with his irony and his guitar entertained all of Bruschi, turning the evening into an occasion of lightness and laughter.

When the performance was over, all of Bruschi enjoyed refreshments inside the theater.

Thank you for your participation.

Almost two years after its last online event on November 30, 2022 Bruschi presented its new Webinar “Changing Materials: why choose zinc.”

The event was held twice during the day to accommodate the schedules of different time zones to provide an opportunity for viewers from around the world to be able to succeed in attending. It was an interesting opportunity to introduce the news of zinc die casting, and the main topics were covered starting from raw materials and their different characteristics, in collaboration with Eng. Andrea Panvini.

The webinar was structured starting from the novelties related to the process with a focus on surface treatments, to the discussion of case studies derived directly from the production of Bruschi foundries.

Here is the program in detail:

Questions and Answers

Following a brief description by Simone Maggiori, Vice President & Head of Sales at Bruschi, the webinar immediately focused on the real star of the event: zinc.

The competitiveness of zinc, by Ing. Andrea Panvini of PiQ²

With a presentation on the main capabilities that distinguish this element from other materials, Ing. Panvini presented concrete cases for which zinc excels due to its properties, such as its corrosion resistance, mechanical properties, and thermal conductivity.
The demonstration continued with precise comparisons of zinc’s competitors such as: aluminum, magnesium, sintered powdered metals, trimmed and cold-formed steel sheet, and plastic.

When is zinc the best choice?

If machining is involved with complicated shapes that require a lot of assembly work

Where there is a need for greater design flexibility with very high dimensional accuracy

For lower investment in tooling

When dealing with non-symmetrical geometry

If there is a need to generate less residue by requiring less alloy use

First Bruschi Case Study by Marco Scaramuccia

Size and precision were the values on which the first Case Study focused the advantages of zinc over aluminum.
The product presented was a component overmolded with plastic for a well-known automotive company with very specific requirements:

Geometric stability and repeatability capability

Tight tolerances

Requirements on mass

Why was zinc preferred over aluminum for this product?

Through demonstration videos, Ing. Scaramuccia demonstrated the qualities of zamak die casting for the automotive customer’s request, highlighting its advantages of obtaining parts with well-defined contours and meeting tight drawing tolerances without resorting to subsequent machining.

What are the mass requirements for the component?

The Case Study presentation demonstrated that the die-cast zamak product allows proper mold filling verifiable by density controls.

Bruschi Second Case Study by Matteo Colombo

This was followed by the Case Study, also born out of experience in the Bruschi foundry, focusing on mechanical strength with a focus on the advantage of zinc for precision.
This component is also intended for a major automotive company with production volumes greater than 1mio/year and a wide range of diameters: approx. M20 to M50.
The product has three specific requirements:

Geometric stability and repeatability

Tight tolerances on threading, down to 5g

Force requirements

Since this is a very special case, Bruschi adopted different measurement methodologies, one of which is the use of the 3D structured light scanner for complete evaluation of the geometry and comparison with nominal data. The very tight tolerances required for this type of product are not achievable with aluminum die-cast molds.
An additional measurement technology used is to test and analyze the pressure losses of the part flow. With the die casting process alone, positive results are achieved for pressure drop values below 500mbar for the duration of one minute.

Why choose zamak over aluminum?

The choice of zamak allows higher tensile strength (UTS) than aluminum, and higher annual production volumes.

Bruschi Third Case Case Study by Ermo Fusè

To close the Webinar, two case studies were presented by Ermo Fusè of which the first related to an electronic board heat sink (PCB).
This case demonstrated how zamak is an excellent material to use for heat sinks when compared to die-cast aluminum. The EMI shielding property also proved to be very useful in this project. The flatness accuracy and low roughness value of the product obtained from the die-casting process alone, together with the fast cycle time, avoided several machining operations translating into major savings for the customer.
The durability of the mold allowed high production volumes with the same tool, in this case 5 times that of aluminum, providing great savings in tooling cost.

Bruschi Fourth Case Study by Ermo Fusè

The last case study re-presents how zinc alloy proved to be the best solution compared to other materials for these reasons:

the necessary rigidity and strength of the structure
the realization of complex shapes

the adherence to tight dimensional tolerances

the stability and repeatability of the production process

almost finished part from molding, very important savings in the cost of products due to the elimination of assembly operations

Why choose zinc?

Case study presentations from all speakers demonstrate for which cases zinc is preferred over other materials due to its corrosion resistance, mechanical properties, and thermal conductivity but also due to additional capabilities:

simplification of assembly activities by obtaining complex

molding templates without additional processing

savings as a result of longer mold life

less residue that is equally recyclable

increased production volumes in less time

The ever-increasing use of simulation software and the technological advancement of production equipment dedicated to zinc alloy die casting may help shift the interest of those potential customers who habitually turn to the plastic or aluminum market to the zinc alloy market.
